• An opportunity to discuss effective solutions to leadership development challenges

During the Summit in the Expo Hall on Tuesday, October 14 from 5:00 - 7:30 PM

Why?

The distinction of being a best practice leadership development organization is not one reserved for the few. The attendees of the Best Practices in Leadership Development Summit represent a worldwide community of professionals, many of whom having innovative and effective best practices to share. This Showcase offers the opportunity for Summit participants to engage in an opportunity for both learning and teaching.

If you have a leadership development practice that you feel is unique and impactful, share it for the community to learn from. If you prefer to participate as a learner, engage with your peers to see how they are confronting their challenges and winning.

How it works?

All Summit attendees are invited to participate in the Showcase! Those who choose to participate as presenters will have an abstract of their leadership development initiative featured in an onsite Showcase Guide for all to see. Showcase contributors will then have an opportunity to share their experience and knowledge as well as benchmark alongside peers in an organized forum.

Unable to present? Participate as a learner and gain the opportunity to approach your peers for interactive learning around the topics that matter most to you. Simply attend the Showcase discussion on October 14th from 5:00 - 7:30 PM in the Expo Hall.

Following the onsite forum, there will be a poll for each attendee to vote on their favorite best practice contribution. The contributor that wins will be guaranteed a spot as a best-practice presenter in the 2009 Summit and will get a free copy of Linkage's upcoming Best Practices in Leadership Development Handbook.

How do I take part?

In order to sign-up for The Attendee Showcase, you must be registered for The Best Practices in Leadership Development Summit. It is absolutely free to participate in the Showcase. To participate as a presenter, please register by calling Lan Qiu at 781.402.5432 or emailing lqiu@linkageinc.com. After you are registered for the Summit and have notified Linkage of your interest to be a contributor, please follow the steps listed below. This process should take approximately 30-minutes.

Note: All attendees at the Summit will have access to the Best Practices in Leadership Development Showcase. Those who wish to participate as learners only do not have to sign up.

Step #1 - Prepare a one (1) paragraph description of your company

Step #2 - Think about what you know and do best

• Identify a component of your organization's leadership development system to serve as a topic

Step #3 - Please be specific when answering these questions

• How many years has this intervention or strategy been in place?
• What was the key business issue/challenge that led to this initiative?
• What was the vision in designing this?
• What leaders or group of leaders are targeted?
• How is this initiative implemented for your target leaders?
• How do you ensure business line commitment and engagement?
• What are the results or benefits that your target leaders receive from this process?
• What has this process accomplished for your organization?
• What do you think was most important in getting this initiative off the ground?
• What are the key things that you have learned as a result of this that have influenced your organization's approach to LD?
• What are your future plans for this initiative?
• As a leadership development practitioner, what would I be able to learn from this?
• Do you partner with any vendors that you would recommend to other organizations?

Step #4 - Send your response to Lan Qiu, Program Manager for The Best Practices in Leadership Development Summit, at lqiu@linkageinc.com along with an .eps format image of your company logo by September 19, 2008.

What happens next?

We will design and publish your organization's leadership development accomplishment in a Showcase Guide to be handed out to all Summit registrants.

On Tuesday, October 14 at the Expo Hall from 5:00 - 7:30 PM all cases will be posted along with your company logo. You will be handed a tag with your logo on it to wear so that all Summit attendees who are interested in learning more about your example may find you for networking and discussion.

The showcase contributor who is voted the best will earn a spot as a best-practice presenter in next year's Summit and will win a free copy of Linkage's upcoming Best Practices in Leadership Development Handbook.
